Adrian Pearsall was born in New York and is one of the best mid-century modern furniture designer, enthusiastic yachtsman and philanthropist. Pearsall’s catalogue of work is long and as he allowed time for custom work that was shipped worldwide, constructing a complete list of all of his truly inspired designs is almost impossible.
In the 50s and 60s, Craft Associates was one of Wilkes-Barre’s top employers. Pearsall’s daring designs brought high-style to the masses and he is credited with the creation of long and low gondola sofas, free-form walnut and glass tables, and the most popular Pearsall’s design bean bag chair.
Gondola sofa is fully restored, with beautiful sculptural walnut base and bold pattern.
Wood construction base with kidney shape glass on top.
Pearsall is known for his innovative designs, including the popular beanbag chair. This example of his work show his ability to sculpt beautiful and clean lines. The height of the chair is a playful nod to a royal throne. They are fit for a king or queen. The base is made of solid walnut with great architectural lines. The fabric is in fair condition, however, I would suggest re-upholstering the set to reveal their true beauty.
