I just love Nika Zupanc, beautifull and talented, she have’s it all! As you can read in her website, “Nika Zupanc became a globally recognised name with the launch of theLolita lamp, her first object to be produced by Moooi.” Now she presented us her new version of the Black Cherry … in gold!! Fantastic!
The influences which drove the conception of zupanc’s family of objects were derived from symbols, motifs and visuals seen in sports,
particularly the olympics, finessed by her signature aesthetic which typically references 1950s furniture.
the resulting designs will create a connection between wit, restrained elegance and luxury.
Full moon lamp for sé
the ‘full moon lamp’ features a thin disk like head which emits a subtle warm glow
Zupanc designed the Runaway lamp as limited-edition torch to give modern travellers off-grid illumination in an emergency. “This diminutive object breaks the rules of contemporary traveling, bringing back the romance of isolation,” says Zupanc. “In its basic function, a portable lamp now becomes an enchanting companion but also a real saviour in the event of an electricity shortage.
Winding the brass key powers a dynamo hidden inside the simple, vacuum-formed plastic shade to light recessed LEDs.

Every single cherry in the world was blessed with a shape that is simple and mysterious at the same time. It has curves that flirt and has the nerve to suggest. Ah, cherries! This modular assembly of lamps pays homage to them all. Simple in design and generous in their final effect, they make possible many combinations that derive from very rudimentary moves. In their dimension, their bigness also offers an air of poetically codified freedom.
