DESIGNSPEAKING – Milan. Roberto Santi is a venezuelan architect. Born in Caracas in 1979, he studied in Switzerland, where he graduated from l’Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio in 2005. In the same year, he started collaborating with foreign architect studios, until he created Basarchitetti with Claudia Bacci in Bassano del Grappa in 2008. Basarchitetti, result of his passion for both art and design, is the place where Roberto started working with aluminum pieces. He designs “Bendline”: his new line of furniture. Unique pieces made by laser cutting and bending of a sheet of aluminum thickness of 8mm, which is then processed through an “artistic oxidation”. Thanks to this original treatment, each client will be pride of the uniqueness of his product. Every object will never be equal to another. These works are beyond fashion and trends. They are the result between art and design. For his originality and creativity, Roberto has been selected as one of the twenty finalists of Young and Design 2013 contest. “Carrello” received many appreciations by judges as Professor Emeritus Filippo Alison, architect and ADI president Luisa Bocchietto, Full Professor of Industrial Design Medardo Chiapponi, architect Flavio Conti and Professors De Ferrari, Giardiello and Rizzi.
Roberto Santi will take part in Fuorisalone 2013 at Talent’s Manifesto event organized by Designspeaking at Daal Gallery, Lambrate.
