Welcome to the new Louis Vuitton Flagship Store in Singapore. It is located at Marina Bay Sands, in its own stand-alone construction – a glass-covered “jewel” that somewhat resembles an ocean-going liner and comes complete with its own jetty – the boutique, or “maison” was designed by Kar-Hwa Ho, Louis Vuitton’s architectural design director of the Asia-Pacific region.
The interior of the building was modelled on a luxury boat with teak floors, details like ropes and portholes, decorated in shades brown, white and blue. This is the first “maison” which means house in French – in Southeast Asia and there are only 12 such stores around the world; it took a year to finish.
Singapore’s LV maison will carry 41,000 square feet of items including men’s and women’s accessories, ready-to-wear collections, shoes and watches. And for the first time Singapore shoppers will be able to order the iconic, custom built items like the brand’s travel trunks.
